The NHSP is a federal grants and contributions program whose goal is to support projects that help seniors stay active and engaged in the community. Every year, organizations across Canada are invited to apply for NHSP funding through a call for proposals for community-based projects that empower seniors in their communities and contribute to improving their health and well-being.

More than 33,500 projects have already been funded through the program, and projects are eligible to receive up to $25,000 in grant funding.

In order to continue to help these important projects that keep our seniors engaged in their communities, in Budget 2022, the Government of Canada has proposed $20 million of additional funding for the New Horizons for Seniors Program.
