COVID-19 Vaccinations

The only way we will beat this virus entirely is by getting enough people vaccinated. Our government has worked hard to procure an abundant amount of vaccines for Canadians, which means there are many options for Lavallers who need their first or second doses:

First dose

Second dose

  • You are eligible for your second dose if it has been 8 weeks since you received your first dose.
  • There is one walk-in clinic in Laval at the following address: 4855, rue Louis-B.-Mayer, Laval, QC H7P 6C8.
  • You can also make an appointment at clicsante.ca
  • Second doses are crucial in maximizing the efficiency of the vaccine and for measures like mask-wearing and social distancing to be abolished.

Five 3D mosaics to discover

As part of the City's Horticultural Beautification Action Plan, five three-dimensional mosaic structures have been erected for the summer season to evoke important events or highlight significant locations. Laval citizens will be able to admire a wheel, an eye, a leaf, a hand and a heart at different locations throughout the city.

Here are the places where the five mosaic sculptures can be admired this summer:

  • Montée Masson, at the entrance of the Sophie-Masson bridge (Saint-François);
  • Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital, on René-Laennec Boulevard (Vimont);
  • Halte Sainte-Rose, at the junction of Sainte-Rose and Curé-Labelle boulevards (Sainte-Rose);
  • Boulevard Arthur-Sauvé, at the entrance of the bridge to Saint-Eustache (Laval-Ouest);
  • Boulevard Chomedey, near Boulevard du Souvenir, behind City Hall (Chomedey).

A Greener Future

Canadians are already feeling the devastating impacts of climate change — including a record-breaking heatwave in B.C and the hottest temperature ever recorded in Canada at 49.6 Celsius. That’s why we’re taking real action to ensure Canada’s resilience in the face of the climate crisis while creating green jobs in all sectors of our economy to ensure a fair and sustainable recovery from COVID-19.

To set Canada on a clear path towards a prosperous net-zero economy by 2050, Budget 2021 proposes to provide $17.6 billion towards building a green economy, including $319 million over seven years to develop carbon capture technology, as well as $1.5 billion over five years to create a Clean Fuels Fund to foster the production and distribution of fuels like hydrogen. We’ll also be cutting income tax rates by 50% for businesses that create zero-emission technologies, and we’ll be building on support for the Net Zero Accelerator, which will allow key sectors like steel, aluminum, auto and aerospace to adopt clean technologies.

By taking bold climate action now, we can mitigate future climate-related disasters, create good jobs and opportunities for Canadians, create a robust green economy, and build a better world for our children and grandchildren.

Notice for international travellers

The government of Canada has announced changes to procedures international travelers must follow when they return to Canada.

Starting today, international travelers who are fully vaccinated (2 doses of Moderna, Pfizer or AstraZeneca or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson) will not have to quarantine for 14 days at home nor reserve a room at a quarantine hotel. This applies only to fully-vaccinated travelers who have tested negative for COVID−19 prior to returning to Canada (at most, 72 hours before).

Test results, as well as proof of vaccination must be submitted through the ArriveCan app.
